Graduation Day...March 9

WOW!! It has been a jam packed week full of awesome learning activities. Graduation Day began with finishing packing and storing luggage. At breakfast, there was a feel of "Is today really the last day!!"

Arriving at Challenger Auditorium there were many PG parents waiting. Prior to graduation beginning the room filled with beaming parents. They were just as excited to be seeing their children as the crew members to be seeing their parents...ALL SMILES!!

After each team graduated more awards were given...

Commander's Cup (Something new that is given to the team with the accumulated most points for the week): Aldrin Team

Right Stuff (Individual camper who exhibits what it takes to be a real astronaut):

Paul Portmann

Pre-Awards Ceremony

Well...the award goes to:

Best Mission: Armstrong Team

2050 Mars Base: Bean Team

Space Bowl: Aldrin Team

GREAT work teams...

March 8 continues....

Well...it is pouring outside and we are all in Habitat 2. Space Bowl has just ended and the crew members are doing their camp evaluations before the pre-awards program at 8 pm.

Graduation is tomorrow at 9am in the Challenger Auditorium in Habitat 2. If you come in under the red arch, like in the top blog picture, you will be in the right place. Come up the ramp and into the doors and the Challenger Auditorium is on the right. You may want to come a little early to get a good place to sit. The ceremony usually lasts less than an hour....Come prepared to be impressed by what all your child has accomplished this week. Remember after graduation your child may escort you around the museum and grounds to give you an upfront and personal tour. They have learned a lot!!

See you in the morning....

March 8

Last full day...Everyone is eating breakfast, talking, smiling, but a little sleepy. It has been a jam packed week. One camper remarked, after being told it was the last full day before graduation, "I thought we were here for 2 weeks!" They are having a blast!!

We hope the rain holds off for rocket launch, sad but true it usually rains. The first team, Bean, launches rockets at 9:30 am at the Homer Hickam Launch Site. We learned about Homer Hickam on our ride to Space Camp by viewing "October Sky".

March 6...continues...

Tonight was very eventful...not only did each team design "Mars 2050 Bases" they also got to use the 1/6 chair, which simulates walking, or I should say, bouncing on the Moon.

We also viewed 'Space Junk", a new IMAX film today. It was cool....I hope the crew members enjoyed it as much as I...

It is been an awesome day!! :)

Missions/Skyping/Climbing Wall

Already a morning of fun!! 4th and 5th graders back at home were able to Skype the different teams and see a little bit of what was going on. The 4th graders seemed excited to think they would have the opportunity next year. Space Campers here were excited to share what they were learning and what has been going on...The fun continues...
